About the event

Vinyl Williams is the multi-sensory project of Los Angeles-based artist and musician Lionel Williams. Williams began making music under the alias in 2007 and has since gained a reputation for his unique blend of psychedelic pop & dream pop, as well as his maximalist 3D art & interactive worlds.

Williams’ music is characterized by its lush and immersive soundscapes, with layers of elusive instrumentation and vocals, creating dreamy and hypnotic atmospheres. Drawing inspiration from a wide variety of sources, he’s leaned toward likeminded self-recording artists such as Robin Guthrie, Patrick Flagle of Women & Cindy Lee, A.R. Kane, Greg Saunier of Deerhoof, Curt Boettcher, Martin Newell of The Cleaners From Venus, and Todd Rundgren. He has also collaborated and shared the stage with artists of the same nature, like Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi, Ruban Nielson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Morgan Delt.

In addition to his work as a musician, Williams is also a visual artist and has created artwork for his own album covers. as well as interactive music videos and point-and-click websites. He is known for his vibrant colors, futuristic architecture, and abundantly biodiverse landscapes, which all reflect his interest in harmony, hidden structures of space-time, and the divine.

Williams just released his 7th full length album “Aeterna” on August 4th 2023 on his own imprint Harmony Records, adding to the momentum of an increasingly prolific potpourri of record releases.

From meeting at a rehearsal in a dimly lit garage to tying the knot five years later in marriage, Ian Dandridge and Kristina Westernik-Dandridge now set off to spread a much-needed message of hope. Inspired by their honeymoon experience in the Californian desert, these DC-metropolitan based artists decided to combine their love for creating and performing music, forming what they now refer to as ‘The Infinite Daisy Chains’. The marriage secured their commitment to each other, and that emotion spills over into the duo’s creative process.

With a seemingly ‘infinite’ sonic palette that sees them generate ideas from synthesizers, drum machines and an array of live instrumentation, their sound fuses bedroom pop and electronica in a way that is unique to them. Kristina specializes in the violin, vocals, and Ableton push, whilst Ian is the guitarist of the duo. As well years of experience in playing synthesizers and drum machines, they just released a remix of Spaceface- “Earth in Awe” on Mothland records which was featured as “Best New Music” on KCRW 89.9FM, out of Los Angeles.

Collectively, they want nothing more than for their reverb-drenched productions to serve as a salute to the music that brought the two of them together. Since their latest music release Between You and Me, they have been performing live playing shows with the likes of Vinyl Williams, Modern Nomad, Fetch Tiger, and others.
